mystery wrasse

Check your returns to make sure he did not land in one of them. They are a shy fish so it may take him awhile to be seen regularly. If you have an aggressive fish in the tank he may be being bullied, otherwise give him a couple of days and he'll come out. I would love to have one of those I think they are beautiful, but at the moment my tank is fished out.

Mine has been out in the open since I got him, it is not shy at all

Mine tried jumping out when I put him in the tank, and nearly did. But, live aquaria's water the fish was in was at 1.019.. My tank was at 1.026. So, I spent the half hour limit trying to acclimate him to 1.026 as quickly as possible without killing it. I had him up to 1.024 when the half hour timer ran out. So, I quickly changed out the last batch of water, got him up to 1.026. waited for another 5 minutes. Dumped him in, As soon as he was in he started darting for the surface. I then got him to stop darting and since then, he's just casually swam around the tank. Had him 2 weeks, he seems completely worry free and stress free now. Casually eats mysis or brine that floats by.

I have little doubt that one day something will spook him out of the tank... I've got a canopy on 3 sides of my tank and netting over the corner overflows....His only chance is to jump out the back.. I love the fish though, great markings, and has been very healthy.

Yup these guys burry themselves in sand sometimes. Be patient, it will come out and make sure it has not hopped out around the tank. :)
