what kind of camera are you using?
Thanks Steve, I'm using Canon 20D w/ 100 macro lens. Marc topdown box is perfect for topdown shots. (no glare)

Thanks Thor!

I have read it a few times and I can't figure it out. What is AEFW?
Acro Eating Flat Worms.

Hi Naka, very impressive.

I wanted to ask you 2 questions.

1.) How is the light bleed over? I have been considering a tank in our living room but with the open top, I am concerned about watching TV, etc.. and the lite bleeding out.

2.) I was wondering how you felt about a deep bed of sand? Do you not use sand because you prefer the glass bottom asthetically or for some other reason?

thanks.

Thanks Tom. I don't have that much light bleeding in my living room. However, I don't watch tv...etc in my living room.

I used to have dsb in my old tank. I was having great success in the begining, but later I was fighting phosphate, hair algae, etc...

I just wanted to control my water parameters better by going w/ bare bottom.

Marvin, I'll post fts in couple of days.

Jim,
Great tank and equipment.
Do you have any bowing in the front glass? What holds the front glass panel together i saw no brace at all just some ideas for my next tank .

Thanks Steve. I don't have any bowing in my tank. I've seen them make 72 x 40 x 24 in 3/4" Starphire w/ no bowing at all. It's the way Tommy glues the glasses together plus the pvc bottom has 2 sides of contact that holds all 4 sides together.

Steve, when you go no bracing, you never go back to bracing! he he

I hate it !!!! i have Seven foot tank and has 18" glass center brace is PTA i had to keep it clean or the light get very dim in the center of the tank.

Looks fantastic James, What light combination are you running now? Thought I remembered you w/ 10k's but switched to 14's? T-5's?

Happy New Year,

Chad

Thanks Chad. I'm running BLV 10'S w/ 2 x 54w ATI blue plus and 2 x 54w UVL SA

I had the Ushio 14's for awhile, but I like the 10k's better IMO.

Thanks,

James
