Your tank and reef is incredible !!

It's my favorite tank on ReefCentral ! :eek1:

Only thing I can say, that you could have done better, but it's really nothing...is you could have put in an external overflow..so that your tank is even more spotless and void of any obstructions.

Other then that, your tank is perfection !

Wow and I love the fish and livestock you have in there !!!

Hey Naka,

Not sure if you posted it before, but can you tell me what kind of bulbs your using ? How many K's ? HQI DE ?

I love the color !

Thanks

I'm using 10k BLV/Ushio 250w de. I think it's the perfect bulb b/c I have the T5's to supplement. BTW, nice setup Ginzo!

Thanks,

James

Gday James,

I love your new system! It seems the Japanese methodology/style has influenced you too ;)

Your tank looks so clean and the aqua scaping and planning is very interesting, not another “wall” reef.

The Equipment room is inspiring too- I can’t wait until I finish my studies…

Your older tank was great too, are you going to move that “purple base lokani” into this new system?

Also, the MH system is very impressive, have the T5 “dimmbar” ballasts come to the states yet? I’m sure you would have some fun with those…

Would you mind running me through what cartridges your using on the RO/DI?

Again, Well done, and please keep posting pictures!

Cheers, Josh

Hey Naka,

In your tank specs you say:

60 x 30 x 24

Is it 30" of depth or 30" high ?

Because your tank seems pretty high !

Thanks

Great looking tank...

a question about the contruction....

do you think the bottom AND the back could be constructed out of the PVC, using the "Glass Channel" method to attach the sides to the back as well as the bottom?

It's 24" high and 30" deep Ginzo.

I don't have a clue Cozmo, but you can email Jaime

Hi Josh, it's good to hear from you again. Are you still doing Zeovit method? I want to see some pics Josh.

Hey how did you know that I was a clean water freak? lol
Are you talking about this coral? :D
purplebaselokani3cb.jpg

The purple base Lokani is in my friends tank right now. He won't give it up. lol I'll get it from him later, but the purple coloration is gone and it's all metalic green. I got this one to replace my green/purple lokani.

G’day James,

I don’t blame your mate for not parting with that coral!!

Unfortunately my tank crashed due to a major overdosing of Kalkwasser, while I was visiting Georgia, US last Christmas, only some VERY hardy LPS survived, (two Acanthastrea, one Trachyphyllia and one large Duncaopsammia), none of the SPS made it.

Just one month ago, I restarted my system, after slowly acquiring some D&D T5, and other gear. It’s taking me along time to get things rolling. Personally, IME, I will always use a (probiotic) bacterial system such as ZEOvit for SPS tanks, for me, this method works.

I don’t want to post a full tank shot yet, however here are the two Acans.

(First Acan under Deltec T5, while the second acan under 20K BLV)
Thanks for explaining the RO/DI system.

naka I am really thinking os buying the acls lighting controler.
Few questions does this dim all of the lights on the system? And how user frendily is it? Lastly what is your overall take on this unit? Thanks!

No you can only dim the MH. I really like it alot, but you should wait until the new updated version comes out. I heard that Sfiligoi is releasing the new software some time this fall. I'll find out for sure after MACNA.

User friendly.... Yes, couple of issues that I have w/ this version:

1) Length of light period. You can set the ACLS to what time the lights to come on, but once you do it's coming on for 12 hrs. I have my ACLS on timer (Reef Keep2) to come on at noon, then the ACLS does the mini sunrise effect and stays on until 8:30. I really don't mind this b/c I have a controller, but I'm sure the new version will fix this issue.

2) No option for just the actinics on or MH only. Also, should be fixed with the new version. I'm sure I can have both these issue fixed, but I really don't mind right now. I'll see them at MACNA to disscuss it further.

James
