I picked this little guy up yesterday. Anyone else have a clown with no stripes? According to the shop I got him from, these were genetically bred to not have any stripes at all.

He does have a little spot on his left cheek:

The bad thing is, that he is now in my fuge because the other fish were all kicking his tail in the display tank last night.

I have a pair of them. They are no-stripe clowns from ORA, mine have absolutely great personalities!

Enjoy them!

I was looking at some of them at my LFS a few days ago. I have not seen that much information posted on them. I assume they are similar to the false percs as far as size an temper.

Cool fish, I guess they are similar to irregular stripped clowns. I hope you can get him into your main tank without any problems. What fish were attacking it?

Well, I'm not really sure what the term "Genetically Bred" means.

So I would not use this term.

They are, however, selectively bred.

Cute! But too plain for me, I like the ones with racing stripes. This is like having a Dalmatian without spots or Zebra without stripes.

I have had my pair from ORA for a few months now! They have incredible personalities and they are just too adorable! :)

If yours are ORA Naked Clowns, they are A. Ocellaris. :)

water`bug- You have the reciprocal of mine...the spot on the cheek is opposite. We should get them together! LOL

Poorcollegereef- The larger(female) true perc was chasing it as was my allen's damsel. I just reintroduced it to the tank after catching the both of those fish out of the display. Now the smaller perc is chasing it...but the naked clown keeps trying to snuggle up to it, I assume its used to being with a bunch of friendlier fish.

I am also trying to catch the six line out of my display...he is going to be a tough one, I'm afraid.

Reefgeekster- I agree that the clown is a bit plain compared the ones with racing stripes. I want to get it settled in and evaluate if its worth keeping the no stipe or the pair of true percs. A lot will depend on if it displays some hosting behavior...because I will miss that the most from the pair of percs that I have. I am contemplating trying to pair it up with a black occelaris. I have just become a little bored with my existing fish and thought this might be a cool change.
