Naked Clowns

I have a pair of naked clowns and a misbar black percula. Will the misbar screw up the nakeds becoming a mated pair?

possibly could...it's 50/50 that the two naked pair up or a naked & black pair up...how old are the fishes (how long have you had them)?

got them today I went to get a pair of blacks but when I saw the pair of nakeds (in a seperate tank) I liked them. I got the black perc just because that was my whole reason for the trip.

I'm not really interested in breeding right away but just curious. Who knows what the future holds.

I have yet known anybody's naked actually produce viable offsprings.

Some do lay eggs, but not fertile.

Having 3 clowns in the tank is not a good idea. Once they start to pair up, there will be an odd man out, and the odds are that that one clown will be attacked.

If possible I would take one back -- the black Ocellaris -- just don't see good things coming from this long time.

It's possible the 4 would split into two pairs, but what usually happens is two will pair, and the other two will just hang around as "extras" that may or my not be harrassed. :)

that would be interesting...naked black osc...

what about 4 clowns in the same tank?

4 would be even worse.

Funny enough the 3 all kinda hang out together no real odd man odd. Maybe they are swinging clowns. Should have them teach my wife.

Things will be fine for a while, maybe even years, but odds are against you. It is likely that one day, sooner or later, when the dominant pair matures, they will harass the third clown to its death.

We've seen it time and time again...sometimes it's just best not to push the envelope.

I know I probably shouldn't have bought the black perc its just he was the only misbar and he just looked at me with those take me home eyes. How could I say no!
