Name these clowns:)

those are for sure Latifasciatus? they look exactly the same as juv. Chrysopterus that I see all the time in L.A., if they are what you claim:D then awesome score, and good luck!

Lets compare pics with the one you have seen. So we call see if they are the same.

So far these are all the ID's anyone else?
A. bicinctus
A. allardi
A. Chrysopterus
sebae? (sp)
Chrysogaster
Akin
A. latifasciatus

i just got in two barely two inch chrysopterus....and i think they look pretty similar. chrysopterus was my immediate guess.

I think that they look simular.
Would you say that the head band looks a bit bigger and also the second band is wider at the top and come to a point at the bottom on the ones I have?

i had a female chrysopterus who had a large head band like on one of yours and much like an allardi, and since then have seen great variability in the head bands of several other chrysopterus. the tapering of the midbar though is an interesting observation, one of my clowns has a pretty solid thick stripe, and the other looks like there is very subtle tapering.

itll be very interesting to see what these turn out as.

where were they allegedly collected at?

Hmmm....Could be a hybrid (allardi x latifasciatus). They look more like chrysopterus right now, but they are so small, hard to tell for sure. If the source is accurate about the collection site, and they are not hybrids, then I think you may have indeed scored some Latifs'. Nice.

Hybrid, that would be nice too:), But I hope they are Latif's, we'll see in about another year or so.

A. allardi.

Clarkii complex id's are close to impossible at that stage.

Four wild caught juvi's?

For me that makes it even harder to swallow. Divers on the collection end usually go for the more mature fish, pairs or not.

I'm not hatin though :) best of luck.

I wish everyone could see these clowns in person, they are nothing Ive seen before. Well as you said at this stage is hard to tell I guess we will all wait and see.

PS stop hatin

All the Allardi I have seen at that stage have had dark tails with a white stripe on the top edge.
If the collection point is accurate, I don't see any reason to doubt your ID. I hope they grow into beautiful adults!

I don't see them as anything near Allardi's, but I too hope the grow up to be nice Latifs adults.
