Nano Auto Top Off?

Is there a particular auto top off device that you recommend for nano tanks? I don't have a sump, so it's going to be in my display, and I don't want it to be too intrusive or bulky looking.

Thanks for the advice!

I use the JBJ ATO it's $80 I think. I've got a small water tub in my stand and I use an MJ 1200 to lift it. There's a float switch in the tub so the pump doesn't run dry and obviously one in the back compartment of my tank. Only problem I had was it'd dispense too much water out of the 1/2" hose before my float switch sensor could react but that was an easy fix by getting a 1/2" ball valve and dialing down the flow. Works great!

You can get some fittings from hd to go from 1/2" vinyl tubing to 1/4" polyethylene (rodi) tubing or airline tubing and run that up to your tank.

I also us an mj1200. I need it for the head height. Marineland now gets them made in china. The original italian ones are still being made and are sold by premium aquatics and probably other places as well.

Marineland originally contracted Cobalt Aquatics to make the MJs until then decided to make them on their own, you can still get the quality MJs from Cobalt. I too used the MJ1200 for the head height, the aqualifter wasn't cutting it lol

For a Nano an Aqualifter pump is all you need for your ATO. Already 1/4" airline hose and a MAX 3g/hr.

Just a final word on the Tunze:

It's highly reliable, precise, and easy to use. I had it running on a sumpless 20L and I did not personally find the float switch to be visually obtrusive. I believe all ATOs should have float switch back-ups in case of main sensor failure, but then again I am slightly paranoid when it comes to this stuff.

Also, Tunze has the best customer service I have experienced in reefing. Roger is a no-bs guy who takes care of his customers.

I understand that the RC search function is, uh, unreliable shall we say. If you do want to search RC then try typing in Google:

An aqualifter is a great choice if the head isn't too much. I use one on my 10g but it won't work with my solana. Tank plus stand is too tall.

does anybody have any photos of the jbj floats? their website is terrible.

Big and ugly (but they work in my experience):

I think the JBJ with an aqualifter with a small check valve for safety would be your best and most cost effective solution. I use it for my BC29 with my RKL and float switches.:fish1:
