nano cube filteration

i have been running a 24g nano cube dlx since christmas and i can not get my nitrate levels down. i think the sponges are a factory for the nitrates so what would you reccomend for filtration in the back 3 chambers??

live rock rubble, leave the sponges just clean them a lot. If you don't mind moding the hood a bit, buy a good HOB skimmer, or make one yourself. I made a venturi style out of pvc, painted it black and it worked great for my 24gal. Also if you have the room a HOB refugium w/ built in skimmer workes good too. I bought one off of Aquatraders for like 50 bucks +light cost and it worked great on it. Just had to mod the hood with a dremmel.

you can do a lot with those tanks if you get creative, different returns out of cpvc, you can have them blow from the front of the tank to reduce the "swirl" add more pc's and if you take an old tape case and break the tabs off you now have a surface skimmer.
