JUST BOUGHT A 12 GALLON NANO, WITH 36 WATT PC'S. I WILL KEEP EVERYTHING FACTORY, JUST WANT TOO KNOW WHAT KIND OF FISH, AND SOFTIES WOULD BE ALRIGHT FOR THAT SIZE TANK. I WILL HAVE APPROX 15LBS OF LIVE SAND AND ABOUT 15 TO 20 LBS OF LIVE ROCK.

I would limit the number of fish to 1 small fish (2 at that most) and you can put whatever softies you want in the tank. Thats a small system without a fuge or skimmer, so any fish in the system will create a huge bioload for it. I would use it as a softy/invert tank and bypass the fish unless the fish are tiny. And of course, it all depends on how much you want to maintain the filters and do water changes to keep it up.

I had a firefish and clown goby in mine until I got rid of it. They did well until the clown goby wandered into the flower anemone. Just keep up with the water changes and a couple of small fish should not be a problem.

I have a royal gramma and a pseudochromis in my 5.5 at work with capnella, mushrooms, zoas, pipe organ, sinularia, xenia, etc. I do a weekly (in theory) water change of 1 gallon from my main display, and run a small HOB (10/20?), a small powerhead directed against the back glass, and a heater with 40W of PC screw in lighting. PC's are not great for color (the only thing I'm not ecstatic about), but I can't find VHO's that small...

I have a small flower anemone and was wondering if that would be enough light for it. from what i just read it will, by the way gflat65 where did you get your screw in 40 watt pc from. thanks david

Either thatfishplace.com or Marinedepot.com. They don't give you good color, but they will do the job. It's actually (2)-20W screw ins...

On my 10G nano, I used a 20" 96 watt powerquad 50/50 10,000K/actinic from coralife. I was VERY happy with the results.

In my 12 nano I have 2 small clowns, a panda goby, a porcaline crab, a pom pom crab and a large hermit and mexican turbo as well as a few nacirrius snails, and 3 sexy shrimp. A rock anemone Several mushrooms, several types of zoos, a small stalk of xenia. All are thriving (except have not seen the panda goby but once since I got him).

After seeing your nano that's why i had to get one. yours looked really good. what is your wattage of your lights, reason i am asking is that i want to put one of my flower anemones in my tank.

If i didn't have bad luck, i wouldn't have any. My new nano not even two weeks old, the lights have gone out. It started with my 50/50 first on thursday moring, then my day light that evening. trying to figure out why they don't work. think it might be the starters, or bulbs that has gone bad.
