nano filtering

I am making the decision between the NanoCube24 with 150W Viper Halide, the Aquapod 24 with 150W HQI.
Is there any difference in how these tanks filter water?
Do they all use sponge filter, ceramic balls and carbon filter?
I heard one of these companies uses part of their compartment for a wet-dry run for the ceramics, right?
Does one of these systems do a better job at maintaining bacteria?
Is it better to have the ceramics submerged or have the water run through it?
I know, so many questions, but I want a low headache tank with the best filtering I can get. Thanks, Paulb.

Most people ditch the rings in favor of purigen, chemi-pure or just turning the middle chamber into a fuge.

Like in my Nano Cube 24 I have Filter floss and Chemi-pure in Chamber 1 and Purigen in Chamber 2.

I'd go with the Aquapod, the Viper sucks (according to my friend and a handful of posts on here).
