nano help...ideas on how to use it...

I just received a 12 gal. aquapod as a gift. I was planning to use it as a tank to grow macro algae in for my naso tang, but its preety cool so I'm tempted use it for fish that are not compatable w/ those in my 55 gal reef. Or it could be a quarantine tank....but my 55 gal is bout full so I really wont need one for long...... And then I couldnt put any live rock or sand in it?
Help me decide....

You can still make it a macro algae tank and have fish in it.

I use mine to mate my purculas, works pretty good
