nano osmolator float switch

I have had a nano osmolator for a little over a year and it has worked great. Just recently I've started experiencing two different problems that seem unrelated.

First, the float switch has started acting up intermittently. When it drops low enough to turn the pump on, sometimes it doesn't shut back off when the water level raises back up. Instead, it will run until the pump timer shuts itself off.

How long is the warranty good for on those switches? If I need to buy one, where could I find them? I don't see the float switches for sale where I purchased the unit.

Next problem is sometimes the pump comes on but it doesn't push the water. You can hear the motor spinning but no water comes out. I've given it a good cleaning and it still happens. This is only occasionally but when it happens my water level keeps dropping if I'm not there to restart it.

Same 2 questions for this I guess. Or, is there something I should do other than cleaning to try to fix either of these problems?

Thanks for your help!

The float is available as a spare part but the product has a 2 year warranty and we generally expect the pump and float to last 2-3 years.

Is it possible another magnet is near the float switch or that the magnet holders were mixed up (for example you have a nano stream and swapped the magnet with the nano osmolator magnet)? The float is a magnetic switch and will be affected by other magnets.

If the pump is not working after a refill of the reservoir, it is likely the pump has an air bubble trapped inside and cannot prime, tip it upside down while submerged to purge the trapped bubble.

I will try that with the pump. In regards to the float switch, there isn't any other magnets close to it and I don't have anything that I could have swapped it with. Thanks

The black ring in the float is a magnet and it flips a switch in the post, this in turn opens and closes a relay in the controller which is also magnetic. I would:

1) Make sure the black ring is intact, it is not cracked or a C.
2) Rule out any magnetic fields near the controller or float.
3) Open the controller and make sure the float is firmly plugged in, I would unplug it and plug it back in.

Test it and let me know the result, I would lower the water level so their is capacity for about 3/4 gallon, at the lowest time out of 1.8 minutes, it should only be able to pump a bit less than 1/2 gallon.
