I've had one running for a few weeks. It only has the one float switch but it has a backup timer that only allows the pump to run for a certain amount of time before shutting the pump off.

The timer and only using a reservoir of a few gallons I think is enough to prevent any major disasters for me. So far it has been reliable and I like it. Their recommendation is only up to 50 gallons i think but depending on your evaporation rate, I would think it would be fine on 60 gallons.

Besides the float it has a shut down timer you can set for 1.5 or 3 minutes and the pump is very slow, about half the speed of the 3155 pump, 3 minutes is less than 1 gallon of water. If the evap rate is high and their is additional sump volume, it may not work, if the evap rate is low and it is 60 gallons total, it might work.
