No one keeps up with waterchanges so i think they are a big help. What size tank do you have?
Tunze or CPR HOBs are fine, or you can save yourself a couple hundred and build an algae turf scrubber. Works better than a skimmer and leaves the "good" nutrients behind for fish to eat (pod heaven). I removed my hob after installing an ATS and haven't looked back - wish I'd done it a long time ago.
Tunze DOC 9002, I've run them for years on my nano tanks.
Hydor Slim Skim Nano, it rocks, super silent, really efficient... just google the mod for it I wrote though, it helps for flow throughput and to enhance surface skimming.
Is it a standard 20 gallon? There are plenty of HOB skimmers that would work
Well if youre consider the Hydor nano or Aquatic life internal type skimmers, do you have a ato on your system? If not you will need one first or your just better off doing without the skimmer as they need a constant level of water
I am running an Aquatic Life mini skimmer in my 29 nano. I am happy with it.
good call , have considered these, anyone had the aquatic life nano skimmer
