Nano Question - Need Advice

I posted this in the Nano forum as well, but thought some of you might be able to help.

I am wanting a Nano for my office at work. I want to place the tank between a chair and a sofa. I only have about 22 inches in width to work with and about 24" deep. I prefer a closed top set up so the light will not be overwhelming. I would mainly have LR, LS, LPS, and a fish or 2 (would love a few SPS, but I don't want to have to get a chiller I don't think). I need something with a decent stand with a cabinet. I understand that the smaller the nano, the harder it is to keep stable, but I feel like something smaller than 30 gallons would be more manageable.

What setup or system might you recommend for me?

My 1st tank was a NanoWave 8. Everything is enclosed and comes with the skimmer unlike the nano cube. IMO great tank

i have a JBJ 24g Nano and its a great tank. its 18" wide and it you can buy one with a 150MH factory hood that seals like the PC hood so you can keep your SPS's that you want.

Do you think I would need a chiller with a 150? I bet it would look great. If I have to go PC and just LSP, I might do that.

I have Seen the JBJ 24g Nano also it is a great tank!! If you decide to put sps in it the 150HQI hood would work out awesome . Other wise just keep the compacts.

I was expecting a smaller question. :D

If you keep a sump in the stand, that will add to your over all water volume. I have a 37g display with a 15g sump. I can't recommend a specific tank because it is a custom build, but this sized setup can be both manageable and stable.

Not sure if it is more then you want, but you could consider one of the Oceanic cubes. I have a 33 gallon one and love it. I have 250 watt MH over it, and 1 clip on fan over the sump keeps the temps in check.

as far as harder to keep I have a 1 gal (i think) on my desk at work. a few zoas a toadstool. a clown two shrooms. every one loves it. have to top every day and I don't think a 3 day weekend would do it any good. but it's there and doing well.

I am considering the solana 24, jbj 24, and the AP 24, and the Finnex 20. I may actually be better off with out a hood, and leave the top open.

Anyone have any experience with the Solana? It is costly, but it comes with the HQI and stand which looks pretty good. What about the Finnex?

What are your thoughts on this? I did not think they made a 24 until I saw it. It might be a bit pricey, but with the pendant, stand and tank, maybe it's okay. Let me know your thoughts.

I also could get a 34 red sea max used for about $500 with stand and all. I don't think I like the lighting, though.

Over all it is nice. Though I don't like the stand -- it has a shelf in the middle of it which wouldn't allow for a sump, but that is just me.

Though it is always possible to put the sump next to the tank. The stand for my 33 cube wasn't big enough for my existing sump, so I just put it in a stand next to the tank.

Since it is an AIO, I am trying to not use a sump. I thought about a ZeroEdge, but those seem like a nightmare. I like the Solana, but with an open top and pendant, I am curious if it might be too much light sitting in the chair next to the tank. Hmmm....

Check out www.nanocustoms.com
I had one of their modded tanks and they are the best in the business. Have only seen fantastic reviews on their products and services.

The tank I linked is from nanocustoms. hellolights sells them too.
