Hello everyone. I present my nano reef 10 gallon, I commented that for reasons of economy and space I had to remove the nano from 110 liters in August and give away some of the corals had, but with material and tank had already mounted a disused nanito of 38 liters and almost went back to start from scratch with little fragments of some frags left me today because the population had recovered and a little more.
2 months until the tank was not to show it off, as this was the sump of 110 liters, tentatively in use, and here is a pic of the month was still up to January 2011
Here is a more closely where the reefs are more noticeable. there was only 2 15w T8 ea actinic and 6,500 ° k
Pass the end of January provisionally corals urn little one to make radical changes and give it a good cleaning in order, remove the lateral separation and put a small sump at the back as you can see in the photos. here's some to see the changes:
Here you can see the mini sump with a capacity of 5,400 liters.
I decided not to take anything between corals devices except the Koralia and then into the sump is installed mini digital thermostat and the air heater and powerhead of 1600 lt / hr. which returns the water to display through plastic pipes, typically used in air cleaning devices. here a picture of the pipe:
flow distribution is all down the back of aquascaping excellent helping will not collect debris under it, do not leave me lying is something we are always seeking to control the buildup.
Here is the photo where the pipe is already installed on the return pump:
Koralia basically the function is to provide flow and movement to the reefs, in addition to help get more flow across the display, is a lot of movement with no fixed address, but does not bother the corals.
Well, I think it was worth it to make changes now if it looks decent on my desk, here are some photos:
Hence in this picture is holding the 3 T8, 15w c / u of which are 2 actinic and 1 in 6,500 ° k. 45W total
In this picture only 2 actinic T8 powered.
It is worth mentioning that the display is 32.4 liters and the sump is 5.4 liters of water net.
The rock consists of aquascaping tonga and aragocreto I have owned for 3 years all super older man, which takes place entirely biological filtration,
no bed of sand as this super comfortable handle well, personally by the short time available and viable economy without substrate makes me thus siphoning it every week by removing almost all the debris that is generated.
I have no filter media because I believe that the siphoning weekly water changes when needed (according to parameters). good quality rock, a large population of microfauna, 2 blue leg hermits, 1 turbo snail, 1 margarita and a good control of the bioburden is more than enough to maintain stable nanito.
respect to parameters measurement today is:
Ammonia and nitrite undetectable
Nitrates: 10 ppm
Phosphates: 0
temperat: 26 ° C
Salinity: 1024
dkh: 9
calcium and magnesium do not measure them but not to the naked eye tells me that the ionic balance is very good.
ph: 8.3
water changes I make as I mentioned when required and in the case is when nitrate rises above 20ppm around every 3 to 4 weeks is this. change to use purified water passed through reverse osmosis, and replacement of evaporated water use distilled water. has given me good results like that.
Daily evaporation is around 600 to 650 ml. I had an automatic filler but with the changes broke my float and I could not get it, so for now the filling is manual.
Soon I will put 2 PC cooler to be prepared for the heat strong season ahead, then I upload pictures mounted.
I have thought likewise put him 1 ocelaris little one to keep you company to which this right now and I stalled the biological load, if there is maintainable partner but because he change it for something.
Finally the headache at the moment are the aptasias as one that came in a little rock and hecharmela to the negligence of the plate, was growing and has been spreading, though not a pest but I will start to remove them before is too late.
For the moment is all but next time I'll put more pictures. just that it's difficult to do during the day because there is plenty of light and is reflected in the glasses, those last photos taken at night, and when they were asleep the reef, I had to wake up to turn the lights lol.
Greetings to all and thanks for the time you spent to read my post.
