Nano reefs

I am in the market for a nano reef. I have done some extensive research, but cannot seem to get any straight answers. I am deciding between a JBJ 28 gallon HQI tank or the OCeanic 29 gallon HQI tank. The main issue I am seeing is that the tank gets too hot without a chiller, but I have also seen people say that it is not an issue. I usually keep my house at 73. Does anyone have experience with these specific tanks or can give some advise? I have kept tanks for abotu 15 years, but never this small.

jbj! with the led option. I had one (the MH150 fixture) and they get warm but it's a sweet looking tank.

I just hated it when it was time to clean the integrated sump. Very difficult to get all the detritus out. Only good way for me was to shut down the pumps, pull everything out, then scrub the walls while using a water hose and my python W/C siphon.

Really good little tanks though!

I went for the best of both worlds choice: 29 gallon cube shaped tank (small enough to be considered nano size), kessil a150w LED Ocean Blue, LifeReef Sump/Refugium with LifeReef Protein Skimmer rated up to 250gallons.

This gives me pretty strong filtration, yet keeps things on a smaller scale to still be nano sized. My main reason for nano was to be able to have a nice reef but not spend as much money on salt, and coral, etc. Since the size is smaller you can buy frags and smaller fish which are inherently cheaper.

Thanks for the input. Any experience with the temperature? Will I end up buying a chiller or will the temperature stay low enough with out one?
