Nano Skimmers

I will be setting up a 12g nano for my sister-in-law later and I need to know if there is a good nano skimmer. I did see bad reviews on the Fission skimmers, so I'll skip that. Oh, she will not be able to get anything expensive so take that into consideration. Thanks.

I have them in 3 of my nanos and like them. They are in the process of redesigning them so you could prob find an older model cheap now.

There are also these that are good.

It kind of depends on how you are setting up the tank, whether it has a sump, will it have a closed hood.

i would skip a skimmer on such a small tank, just do a weekly water change and you'll get more funk out than any skimmer could pull out.

I have the Tunze nano on my 24 gallon and wonder if even that is overkill. For 12 gallon, I agree with joeycadre and would skip the skimmer since it's so easy to do water changes, which accomplish more for you anyway.

It will be a closed hood. Thanks for the input guys. She doesn't have much to spend, so I'll have her just change out one or two gallons a week.

i do a 2-3 gallon change every week on my aquapod 12, it's easy peasy. for realz.

much better than the 20 gallons i was doing on the 90 every 2 weeks before.
