Thanks Gmatt I was actually going to get a sundial but the 250watt pendant

Right now I have a viper 150watt over my softie tank and I am hating the results.... I had a 175watt retro fit kit over my 20 with sps the results where ok color was ok but nothing was growing fast either. This is what is making me lean toward more wattage

I will have my bf make something to hang it for me I will make sure I show him what you did. I might pm you later if I have questions
:D

No worries. I have some Sketchup diagrams and several photos of the progress on how I made the pendant. I can post them later tonight if you or anyone else is interested.

Wow, wow, wow and wow!
just amazing!, thank for sharing
I think we have enough winners for TOTM of the coming year.
Please share your tank threads too

Here is a few diagrams of what I built for a 250 watt SE bulb with Power compact Actinics.. This again goes over my oceanic BioCube29.

Here is a shot of the actual canopy. This image looks slightly different than the previous diagrams. That’s because after using the canopy for a while I would keep the overall outside dimentions the same but I would raise the bulbs higher inside the box if I had it to do over again. Also the SE bulb in not installed to the mogul socket.

My Tank is just getting starting so my coral is not what the rest of these very nice tanks are showing. But here is what I have so far.

Wow! amazing looking tank!

Thanks. It no where compares to a lot of the ones posted or a lot of the ones around RC.com. But I have to remember that this was 2003 and not many people were doing SPS nano's w/ 400w MH's or calcium reactors

Yeah it was a 20K Ushio and then the XM's when they came out. Then I upgraded to a 58gal and did 2x400 over it :D

Lunchbucket, your tank got me into keeping a nano. That was one nice tank. Hard to believe how far nanos have come. The tanks on this thread are just as nice as the big tanks. I've got a small tank, and it's getting there. Keep up the great work guys.

can you tell more about the equipment running the system over there?

WOW, I remember that tank Luchbucket. It was ahead of its time!

Thank you. After a lot of talking to people w/ nano's and w/out I decided that why can't we use the big tank philosophy ie: aggressive skimming, MH's, Ca Rx's, lots of flow (closed loop pumps, wavemakers), etc on a little tank w/ success? Well turns out you could :D It was weird at first to talk to some of the big boys about putting a Ca Rx and MH's on a 20H but it kept the system more stable.

steelmen - Well I'm glad that 20H did something for some people. It was purely intended for me and to break some "rules" of nano keeping...I guess it did.

matan_grin - My thread no longer seems to be active on RC.com I suppose it is so old :( I wish I could find it and go back through it but here is my 20H webpage w/ pics and equipment details

Thanks everyone...I LOVED that tank and miss it VERY much. I lost all my corals when I switched to my 58gal and went through the Oceanic salt PO4 issues that were out in 2003 or 2004 :(

wow lunch bucket how are you keeping the temps down with the 400w halide over your 20h and your 10gal?
seems to be working thought and very nice tanks u got

I just used some server fans that turned on in the hood when the water temp got too high. No chiller was used on the 20h. Simple fans :D
