Nice thread, nice tank, nice photos. :) Has anything been quarantined or do you just put everything straight into the tank?

Thanks :)

No, nothing has been quarantined with this tank as of yet. Mainly bc I have bought stuff pretty close together and wanted to get them into the tank and get them unstressed as fast as possible. I know it's a gamble, but since it's a fairly new tank I thought it was the best option for us.

Having said that, the tank is now closed. It's maxed out for what I think this 75 can handle so I would not add anything else to it. If I got something small and this tank was up for awhile, I would probably quarantine it in our old 20, but I'm really hoping we're done for awhile. I want to give the tangs as much room and space as possible. At least until the new tank is ready to go.

Thats a real nice PBT im thinking once i eventually setup a 210 im gonna go with one or two acanthurus (sp) tangs and maybe one or 2 zebermousas -still figuring out which ones... however i doubt the two tangs will fight much more since thier different types

Thanks :) Your 210 sounds awesome!

Thanks :)

Not always. My tang was 59.99 plus 34.99 shipping. They sell PBT tangs here at my LFS for $100 plus at 5 to 6 inches. I wanted a small one and they never had them, so it would have been $100 either way. But I did order other stuff with it to make the shipping better as I tend to agree with you. I think a lot of people are in the part of the country where there are no swfs so they have no choice too.

That scaring is nothing. I ordered a gorgeous exquisite wrasse from the divers den (along with a nice McCoskers) and he came in with substantial wounds around the mouth. The good news is he ate well from day one and within three weeks he was totally healed. His name is chomper (because of the mouth wounds and his voracious appetite) and the McCoskers is named flash (not because he is a flasher but because his coloration reminds me of the super hero).

That is indeed a nice powder blue.

Overall I am very happy with my two orders from LA and next time I need livestock guess where I am going?

lol cool names.

I don't think I would be too happy with mouth wounds. I still don't think they should ship a fish with that kind of scarring. I paid full price, I didn't receive a discount for his condition. Hopefully mine will heal up well like yours. His color is more black today, so hopefully it will heal all the way.

If you order more fish it does come out cheaper. You are paying for the box and heat bags(heat bags depends on weather)When I had my tank I used to order online all the time ,corals and fish.In general it came out to $5 per item. The only thing is you don't get to see the fish you are buying like the way you do in the store. In most cases if the dealer is reliable he will have good live stock.I never had a fish that had ich I have had fish that died due to stress of shipping but it wasn't often. The place I order from is on the other side of the country. The only thing to worry about is the plane. If the air cargo company screws up and doesn't get your fish on the correct flight or gets them on the wrong flight somewhere else the fish will die.I did get an order where they screwed up the flight and the fish arrived one day later. They survived

Nice tank. Everything looks great. Keep the pics coming. I am upgrading soon but you made me realize I could have done a lot more with my 75. I just got on RC and saw the large tank forums and was instantly hooked. I think I might start filling my 75 with some corals so I can have some to transfer to my new tank.

Ohh yeah you have some nice pets. And I am sure if XIBIT was into reef tanks he would pop your collar. Man that does sound nerdy.. ^&^%& it I love this stuff...

I like picking the fish out in person better too, but sometimes you can't. Glad to hear your fish surived!

LOL! Yay someone got it :) :)

Thanks! You should def add some corals to your 75. They really add a lot to a marine tank!

I thought this was very cool. I added a fire red cleaner shrimp to my tank, and have been worried at times about Oreo my zebra eel eating him, since he's an invertebrate eater. My hope was since he's a cleaner shrimp, he would know that and leave him alone.

Well! The other night my "worst fears" came true, or so I thought. I happened to look over at my tank and saw the fire shrimp inside Oreo's mouth. I screamed cuz I thought I was watching my shrimp being eaten alive!

The good news was he was only doing his job! Mr. cleaner shrimp was open for business and was giving Oreo and a look over. It was really fascinating to watch.

I believe what happened was the shrimp set up his cleaning station, and the eel happened to swim by and the shrimp went into action.

Here are the best photos I could get.

I wish the couple of fire shrimp we have would clean the fish. All they do is steal the anemone's food and hid under rocks (etc.). The same goes for the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp that we have. We have two and they are always together eating stolen fish heads and hanging out in one corner of the tank. Little imps....
