My thoughts.

I'm not really sure what's going on with my thread anymore and all of the problems it seems to be causing. That was never my intention. I really was just having fun with it and trying to bring something different to RC for a change.

My tank is just a 75g. It's nothing special. I keep zoas, shrooms, ricordeas, clowns and now a PBT. None of which are original or all that interesting compared to the other 1000 threads just like it on RC. My zebra eel I think is interesting and different, but that's about it really.

So I thought I would make my thread different and fun. I like threads that have different things in them, instead of just tank info. I tried to keep it mainly on focus with shots of my gliders occasionally since everyone seemed to really like seeing them. The dog shots are there bc they are important to me and I thought they were cute shots and would show part of my life outside of just my tank.

The jean shots are entirely different. It all started with a shot of me looking over and into my tank before I got it setup, followed by some action shots me and my bf thought would be cool to document the setup of the tank. From there it snowballed into a running joke about my jeans and "action" shots and we kept doing it bc it was funny and something I thought everyone was getting some fun with.

It was never my intent for those original shots to be anything more then exactly what they were. It was the RC members who took it the wrong way and got all excited about it. It was (and still is) funny to me and I guess in the end it's my fault for allowing it to continue, but again we were just trying to keep the thread fun and amusing - mainly to ourselves. I'm sorry people can't handle the way I look or dress and take it the wrong way. I guess if I was a guy everything would have been fine - and no reef jeans joke.

I'm tired of hearing about no face shots, which isn't true. There are some on this thread and some on my myspace. I'm not hiding or avoiding it. The whole purpose of the "action shots" were to show me working on my tank. "Candid" shots if you will to make it more interesting - with the running joke of the jeans. I'm also tired of me being whatever when nobody else on RC posts any photos of themselves at all, yet I'm the one who's hiding. I'm really quite amused by this one.

Now my thread is being called names and a joke and it's just not worth it to me anymore. I think RC needs to lighten up and get over it. Or, more to the point, I don't think RC is the place for anything original or new and fun. Maybe I'm too "young and fun" for RC, or maybe I'm too "dumb and young." You decide, I don't really care.

I'm done posting on this thread for awhile. I'll update it once I get things back in order for those of you who have been following my thread and are cool and have had fun with me along the way. I appreciate it a lot. I hope you can understand it's just not fun anymore with the comments and PM's so I'm stepping back for awhile.

I'll still be on RC so feel free to PM me whenver or say hi I hangout in chat a lot too so stop by if you want to have some fun and goof. I'm not trying to be dramatic or emotional, I'm just being me. If it's not fun why bother anymore, this is just a hobby.

And now to quote one of my all time favorite cartoons:

The only reason I say this is because I have a 8 year son who enjoys this hobby as uch as I do, and lobes to read and look at the pictures here...................but its a damn shame that I now have to add this site to mt list of NO-NO's for him...........asking me what does BI mean.............come on and that link?

True I've been following along since day one. If you guys look back at the first few pages NG makes a point to ignore your "comments" and keep the focus on the threads original intent. Learn how to take a hint guys.

I don't mind guys acting like they are in high school, I act that way too I'm young and I enjoy acting like it. But I don't want my tank to be considered a joke or made fun of bc of how I am. I also don't want to start arguing and defending myself here, that's not what I wanted my thread to be about.

I'm not upset with anyone, I just think it's getting to the point where it's not approprate for RC, that's all. On another forum I'd have no problems with anything, I'm not uptight

I'm just a little sad about my tank and it not being taken seriously by people, or the comments about me hiding and whatever. Just get tired of trying to explain it over and over is all.

I'm sorry about your son. I can't control what people post or how they react. If I could I would remove that post from my thread, as I think it's totally inappropriate to bring up my orientation. That's why I have a myspace - to remove certain things from this thread.

I hope you forgive me, as it's very sad to me that my thread is the reason he can't surf RC anymore.

Thanks H20BUM I appreciate that. I still accept responsibility for it though, as I should have stopped it then. I allowed it to continue bc it was funny and amusing and I really didn't think anything was that bad. I should have taken into consideration what may happen down the road - and I didn't. Never thought I would have too.

Oh well, live and learn Maybe I'll start a new nano tank! I can thread that, since it's too small for action shots lol. Nobody would view my thread then though!

Your tank is great and is fun to follow seeing that I have the same size tank, keep up the good work. I think we all can have alittle fun in this thread as long as we remember to be gentlemen about things.

As some have already stated, I believe that it was "Others" that began to lead your RC thread into a different direction, and I don't find you to fault for any of it. I for one take your tank seriously and I have always appreciated your company as a Reef newbie! We share a lot of the same tastes in corals and such, and I really like seeing your tank pictures.

Do what you feel like you need to, but this could very easily just be laughed off, and you could continue on with your tank thread from here. If "Others" don't feel comfortable with your thread anymore, but the moderators have found no fault, I think that "Others" can choose not to follow along and let the RC moderators do their jobs.

I hope that you stick around...(Just my opinion)

By far one of the best series of pictures in this thread and many others here on RC were the eel and shrimp photos. If you guys all dig seeing an attractive female in jeans a simple google search will make your day.

NG ~ Your tank start-up is nothing to joke about. You are doing as fine a job as anyone here.

When a thread gets as popular as yours you are going to have those who are jealous or envious. If anyone is trying to poke fun at you just ignore it. Its all a part of life. A majority of the people here are supportive of you and your ambitions.

Also, another thing that is sooo great about this thread is the fact that you're buying and setting things up quickly. I hate trying to follow a thread that takes a month to get all the LR, then another month to save the money for the skimmer, and so on. It's fun following along when someone has the money to spend TODAY.

Im sorry things have gotten out of hand nanogirl, I have been reading your build threads since the 54 gal corner tank. All because you do a good job of making it interesting, i especially remember the post where you got Oreo. Sad to see it go.

To be honest, while I do believe this thread was nearly crossing some meandering line, I didn't think it would get to the point of no return. Like a typical cycle in our tanks, things change over time and then settle in. I figured this was one of those situations, but it really comes down to the contributions of others and how their comments are perceived.

Whenever a post is in question, you can click "Report this post to a moderator" and let them review the comments. If it is a problem, they will be sure to step in and clean it up.

Or ban us all.

Just tell your son it means she speaks 2 languages.
