This was one of the best threads and as someone mentioned, quick moving, and lots of updates. But Nanogurl is what made the thread good...responding to most every comment or question with a quick thank you, and it was so positive.
Sure...if one wants to find threads about 75s, there are plenty. Well, it's not about the tank. It's about the journey, and about the author of the journey.
Yes, few threads grow this big, and some of that has to do with the fact there are boys that don't seem to get out much. But the majority of the coolness of this thread is the coolness of Nanogurl herself...and I'm referring to her reefing, not her jeans.
Come on folks, give her back her thread and her enjoyment. So all of us can also continue to enjoy sharing the development of this tank. And boys...grow up. Please.

Speaking as an older woman. I was really enjoying this thread. I loved all the pictures. The way NG had been taking us on an adventure with her different interests reminded me of my son at her age, and it is refreshing. I was not the least bit offended by the jeans remarks. She's a cute girl. There was nothing inappropriate the way the majority of the guys acknowledged that. It was all in good fun. I don't know why you said some were not taking you seriously or calling you young and dumb, I cetainly hope that was not coming to you through PM's because I did not see that in any posts. In any event, you handled yourself with grace and poise. The couple of posts some found offensive were in no way your fault. Having said all that, your 75 build was informative and I learned a thing or two from it.

It's just REALLY sad that NG feels she has to stop posting to her own thread because someone got offended. If you're offended, don't read it. It is amazing how many posts there are that go by without a word but because she added a little spice to the site, people get their shorts all bunched up...

Many have said some well written, considerate words that ring true here, and I agree with them. Another strength of this thread is the numbers. There are 38 pages here, hundreds of posts, dozens of contributers, many mearly lurkers that have been drawn out by something fun, new, and different. Not just a nerdy tank build, but one that includeds small tidbits of life. Yes, it doesn't hurt that NG is cute, but her textual replys and lighthearted (ok, younger) tone are refreshing. I've not seen a thread move so fast by so many different people. Common sense suggests that some things are off limits here, hence her MS account. Use that like she has, keep topics related to her personal life on that level unless she chooses to bring them here. We are all the "others" as we have contributed, or at least viewed, her life in this thread. Let's be sensitive to our peers. NG, I hope we continue to hear from you on occasion. It's been fun!
Whoa. I hope that one of the comments that I made didn't start some of this. I am not a hater...I find it interesting to read. I am sorry to the mom of the 8 year old. I have an 8 year old along with others and I still let them read it. I am also dead honest with my children.

This thread was one of my favorites. Alot of pics both of the tank and of the reefer who keeps it. Shots of the fish and corals and some of her other intrests.
Most of the threads are just way to technical and get real old real fast. NGs thread is fast and fun and diffrent. It made reading and following along worth it.
Her tank is off the shelf parts and common everyday critters with great shots showing the set up and then continueing saga of the trials and tribulations all of us reefers have to deal with.
The black ich part was very informitive to me and I learned from it.
As for her hiding her face....there are plenty of shots showing her face in various parts of her thread and her myspace page.
As for explaining what Bi means....if you too damn scared to talk to your kid about life and be able to explain to them that the world is full of diffrent beliefs and people then thats not our problem.
Hell everyone whos EVER been on myspace knows its full of RISKY pics and information.
Or maybe you just can't handle that a girl you admired is something diffrent than you thought.
Lifes full of screening things for your kids.....don't **** on someone elses head cause you have to actually watch your kids viewing sites.
We all do as parents and its part of the job. If there are things I dont want my boy to see he doesn't and if the simple explanation of " because I said no" doesn't work than I expalin life to him and he moves on.

Its a beautiful tank kept by a very intresting person.

This thread has taught me a lot and has given great ideas also. She has an amazing tank and you can tell that she really cares about this hobby and of course her gliders n dogs.
Let your son view the gallery of pics on the home page as opposed to threads. I seriously doubt he is understanding any of the info passed on these boards and that he has never seen a girl in a bikini before. I would be more concerned of cursing like you did above, then a girl in a bikini. Practice what you preach and please steer clear of this thread.

NG - dont let a few people who "dont get you" keep you from being you and doing what you want. Your tank looks awesome and i think its great to see people my age getting into the hobby...
Again - the tank looks great and keep up the work... Keep us posted as you move forward - and keep being you, there are a lot of us who appreciate it!
