Wow, just read all 39 pages! First I want to say great job! Now I found nothing offensive in this thread other than those complaining about it. Keep up the good work and love all the pets!

Thanks Jena :) I appreciate the support!

 Good on ya ng. Pm sent in response to yours.

How goes it with the black itch? I hope there is no such thing as red, green or blue itch, there's enough now to be a pain

Saturday Night Update!

Good news so far! Ocean (PBT) got his latest FW dip on Friday night and he responded much better this time. The first FW dip he had he acted normal in the bucket. The seond FW dip which took longer to catch him he freaked out and layed on his side and didn't respond well. This time we caught im almost right away and he did very well again. I think the second time he was worn out from being chased.

He did well being put back into the tank as well. Opened up and very little stress. We always have the lights off when he goes back into the tank.. think that helps. Today we saw no signs of scratching or spots. This was the first time we have seen neither since we got him. He was scraping the first day we got him. The scarring and marks seem to be getting better every day as well.

If he stays "clean" for three weeks I'll know if he's "cured." With the black ich, the worms will fall off for a period of time and burrow into the substrate.. where they will then explode and release spores to re-attach to fish. So even though Ocean looks good now, he may not in a day or even several weeks when the cycle continues.

The good news is he's starting to fill out where as before he was too thin I think. I am hoping that is a good sign that we are ahead of the curve with the worms/black ich and he'll make it. He's such a strong fish I'm going to be really sad if he dies.

This is Ocean swimming in his FW dip. I have air stone in there to keep water oxygenated since PBT's need a lot of oxygen.

Tried to get a frontal shot to show how he's filling out compared to before.

Swimming around tonight looking like he owns the tank!

I like your hammer coral that's behind Ocean. As for the lemonpeel you've got, I've got one too, and I'll never own another. She killed my wife's firefish and bully's my other fish, including the damsel.

That's good news. I hope you don't have exploding worms as you've described.

Btw, we had a good laugh at the LFS about PBTs today. I'll have to tell you about that some time.

Very nice. Glad to see your PBT hanging in there. A fat fish is a healthy fish, glad to see he's puttin' on the pounds (or ounces in this case). I learned that from father Melev. :D

Yep, nori is a wonderful thing. For one tang, a 1/4 of a sheet would be plenty per day, or even every other day.

Its good to hear ocean is doing alot better :)

As for the dips, just be carefull if the fish does look exhausted. My experience is a loss with trying the dips to close together and when the fish is stressed. Saying that, your little fella looks pretty happy.

Cheers

Chris

Thanks :) Yea, I still have the Peel. I put it in my reef and she decided to taste every coral I had.. so I had to remove her and put her in our 20g high tank for awhile.

I ended up taking mine back to my LFS about a month ago, and it's still up there at the store. They are SO beautiful, but mine would even take bites out of my Tube anemone's tube! I kept it over in a 30 gal with a True Perc clownfish pair, and it made a nice display, but eventually I grew tired of the dual tank maintenance. Anyway, I was just wondering...

Do those Sugar Dogs come with full blooded registration papers, or are they just mutt bred Wal-Mart parking lot "Free to Good Home" Sugar Dogs?

Sugar dogs are the newest designer breed, haven't you all heard?

Glad to see that Ocean's doing good. What a beautiful fish! :)

Thanks :) It's a Hammer x Frogspawn that the store explained to me had spawned together. Thought it was interestng so I bought one and fragged the pieces two make three heads. They are getting huge.

Yea, I won't get another lemon peel either. It's a shame cuz they are so pretty, but they really are butt heads! Sorry to hear about your fish :(
