Hey NG
Im probably classed as more of a reader than a poster and really glad your carrying your thread on.
Im watching your PBT closely, but could you tell me what size it is and wether it was eating well when you bought it?
How does it cope with your its other tankmates?
Bit off topic but loving the doggies pics. May well post my "bea"r if he stays still long enough.
Cheers
Pete
Thanks

Def post up if you get a good photo! Always welcome here.
Ocean is about 3" right now. I will try and get something more exact later today when he wakes up. I wanted the smallest one I could get for two reasons:
1. My tank is a 75. Too small for a big PBT. I am hoping he won't "outgrow" the tank until next summer when my new tank can be setup.
2. My hope was a baby tang taken out of the ocean that didn't grow up used to the ocean would be less stressed as an adult in a SW tank. My theory is that larger tangs that are used to all the open ocean and then confined into a small box would be much more stressed then a smaller one not as accustomed to it. I have no idea if that's correct or not, but it was a theory of mine.
Plus they are just so cute small!!!
He arrived looking very pretty but with scarring and a little thin. I believe he came in with black ich, as none of my other fish had it and I had had them for awhile before I got him. He did okay at first but I think the stress of two tangs in the tank caused both tangs to stress out. Even though they were both small and lots of room to swim, they both wanted the same cave and would chase each other out of it.. thus adding to stress.
He did not eat the first day at all if I remember correctly. After that, he started to eat. Since he's been eating he's been eating for me non stop. I give him lots of garlic and dried seaweed clip to graze on all day, in additoin to the feeding and LR algae he pecks at.
I would have never got two tangs if I had known we were going to get a PBT. Originally we were going to get a PBT, but decided not to so we went with the scopas. After having the scopas for awhile and not really enjoying her, we decided to risk the ich issue and try a PBT at least once. At that point we had already had the scopas and felt bad about getting rid of it.. so we tried it out. They really seemed to do okay at times.. but i think the black ich did them in. It was just too much stress along with the ich and a small tank. I would never do it again.
I was prepared for reg. ich battle, but the black ich totally caught me off guard. I didn't even know it existed.
