I hope I'm not repeating a thread but the search is always down whenever I try it.
I've noticed a lot more information out there about nano reef tanks. I am new to marine tanks, but I've kept f/w for years. I've recently started a nano as my first try in the marine world and I am very excited about it!!
Let's hear all about your comments on nanos. Are they a good idea? Am I just asking for trouble and frustration? Will I end up getting bored and go up to a larger tank just like I did with freshwater?
Here's what I have on mine: it's a 7.5 gallon with 2 10W compact fluorescent bulbs, a heater, an AquaClear mini filter ( I tried a larger aquaclear but there was too much turbulence), about 8 lbs of live rock, no sand or coral on the bottom (just the glass, no reason, just haven't goten any yet), an air pump to increase dissolved O2, a perc. clownfish, 2 cleaner shrimp (dunno what kind, they're red and white and stay hidden alll the time). I'll try to get some pics posted here.
Give me your input on this setup and your experience or opinions on nanos.
