Nassarius snail - is it still there?

I have a 32 g biocube with about 30# liverock and about 1-2" of sand, depending where you are in the tank. 5 days ago, I added a nassarius snail to the tank after drip acclimating it for about an hour. It immediately submerged in the sand and hasn't been seen since. I am beginning to wonder about it because I have not been able to locate the stalk at all. Should I start stirring the sand in effort to locate him sooner than later? I have three hermit crabs that are growing like weeds - would they try to find the snail if it died?

Leave it alone, they usually stay under the sand, but may come out when you feed the tank, particularly with sinking pellet food.

Just leave it.. Its likely under the sand doing just fine..

If it died.. nature will take care of it..

No need to concern yourself with a snail...

Clearly I have much to learn, because I cannot tell you what kind of nassarius snail it was, but I will take the advice and leave it alone. Thanks to everyone (again)!

I have added 100 or more to my tank and never, ever see them. No idea if they are still around, but I like what they are supposed to do to help the tank so periodically I just add some more.
