I am building a new tank and I am trying to figure out how to QT everything, including inverts. I was planning on using them both NSW and mixed. The water comes from a source hundreds of feet out and 60 ft down, put through a sand filter. What are the chances of getting ich or other parasites from it? There was another comment on here that The chances of getting ich free floating from NSW is very low and to further reduce the chance, let it sit for 24 hours.
Does anyone know if there is any truth to that 24 hrs recommendation? Is the assumption that it will adhere to your container. If you let your containers dry between uses you could then kill it.
