Natural sunlight?

i set up a 125g in front of 3 southfaceing windows.i have a 200g sump in the basement to try and help with the temp in the summer.dont know if it will help or not, hasnt been through a summer yet.do you think it will help?another thing is that i replaced the glass with a plastic called ACRA-LITE OP4.it lets 85%of the UV through.i kept lizards in this lightbefore i switched hobbies.how do you think this will affect the tank?every thing is fine now.i have noticed that my corals i have are growing towards the light.they are encrusting types so i dont think it bothers me much.i have no other lighting on it.but i do have a 400w mh if i want to add it later.

Billford, I would think that having the sump in the basement would do a great job of keeping the tank cool. As for the lighting, I would put the metal halide on with a bulb more in the blue spectrum. This helps to balance out the yellow and red light from the sun. Which may help the corals or not. But it definately looks better. Just my opinion though. If you look at my last post you'll see what kind of lighting I have on my 90gal. One light I didn't mention above is my 420nm 4ft. flourecent. This light has a purple tint to it that makes people think it's a black light. But it make my corals flouress like no other. Hope I was helpful.
