Nearly 5 years old of Deep Sand Bed (Italian tank)

Hi folk,
this is my SPS -DSB- tank since july of 2007.
Some pics after 2 years...nice but too many corals have created problems of water circulation and light.

Some pics of the tank after a new layout of the last year"¦ few colonies"¦ a lot water circulation and more light. The bed is the same since 2007 (Aragamax). Lighting system is 9X39 watt with Aquamedic T5 (3 blue-6 15.000K). Only food for fishies, no trace elements, a water change sometime.

Oh! Many thanks! :)
In the past I have had the refugium and the frag tank connected to the sump. I have dismantled this system of 90 liters because I did not want more to complicate the life. I do not want to be slave of my tank, my tank must be only a pleasure for me.

This tank just goes to show that using basic begginers corals can really turn into something special! Love this tanks mature look and I love the redo of the scape it really opens things up and allows the tank to have a "centerpiece" look to it. Youve done an amazing job! You should post some sump pics or are you saying you removed it?

This is my refugium system in the june of 2009 with lighting system by T5 tubes (2x39 watt) and you can see the old layout also in the display tank.
Refugium with live rocks, Chaeto and sponges.
All my SPS have been small frags, but truly very small frags.

Ciao dixiedog,
on the right there's Acropora loisettae. In truth the colony is blue, not purple. The camera isn't been regulated well.
On the overflow there's emerald Pavona cactus. In origin it was in many little pieces collected on the bed of a tank of a my friend. I have fixed they on a base in portland with Milliput glue.

The big green Acropora on the rear is an Acropora enzmann. Follow Montipora confusa, my first little frag in this tank. On the left I have Acropora rosaria, but I'm not sure about species

Beautiful tank, those are some impressive colonies.
Shows off your husbandry skills to see them grown out like that.
Must have been quite a job to go in and rescape.
