Brian,
My friend Peter, one of many happy customers who have turned to be friends of mine, has sent me the posts you put on the Internet about the crack of your tank.
The technicians who have been working with us for over 20 years in helpping us make glass aquariums stronger and tougher, basically confirmed my thought after reviewing the pictures you sent us. The crack was either caused by an unsecured top beam near the flat side at the back, or by an unleveled floor, or both. The gaps in the glued cracked areas of your tank top shown in your pictures indicate the glue you applied did not hold tight enought.
I think it was a mistake to let you get a U-shape room divider tank with a broken top beam just trying to meet your budget, without emphasizing the importance of detailed factors like what kind of silicon glue you should use, how long you should wait for drying before you fill it with water, etc.
To make sure you would not encounter such a mistake again, I will not replace one broken tank with another. That was the reason I offered you a perfect new tank but were willing to charge only $821 (instead of $1820), that is the difference between what you had paid $999 for the broken "as is" tank and the regular price $1820 for a perfect tank.
Considering you seem to be an honest guy who has been fair in saying what you feel on the Internet, and your urgency in need a tank for your coral survival, I am now lowing from $821 to $650 for the replacement tank, including shipping charge to your home.
Please give me acurate measurement of your tank and inside canopy for my confirmation of availability in stock.
Best regards
Alex Zou
