Would the AI hydra 52 be an over kill on my 30 jbj rimless? Btw it is adjustable so the spectrum/intensity doesnt fry my corals. I just want the best colors to pop out of my corals. Or should just go with the standard AI Hydra.
Yup. Unless you are planning on a switch to a 36" deep tank to replace the jbj then im pretty sure you can get away with the regular hydra. Reef culture has one over one of their tanks if you want to see it in person
I agree that's a lot of light. If you are planning on switching someday then it's okay because you can control the light down for this tank and bump it up for a new tank downt he road.
Azkass - I heard those were nice too but may ppl have recommended me to get the AI Hydra over radion for numerous reason. Then I saw the hydra 52 which will get complete coverage and dimmable to avoid frying corals. Later I'll move it to a different tank which is deeper/wider
