Need a grazer

Hello all. Have been away from this board for a long time due to military obligations, but I made it home.

So my spouse has been taking care of my tank while I was gone and it looks pretty good except there is calpura (sp) growing everywhere which I don't want. It is a 75 gallon with some soft corals, a 6 line, clown, royal gramma, hawk and a coral beauty. All have been in there for years and are very happy. I have about 100 pounds of LR and would like to add something that will graze on this stuff. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

I got a yellow tang and it ate the few bits of calupera in my tank in less then a week. Did you ever think of one of the smaller tangs for your tank?

I am open to any suggestions the forum can supply me with. I sort of have been away from it and don't remember what fish is good at eatting this or that or which ones get along etc...

Virgatus or Doliatus rabbitfish.

Needs a lot less swimming space than a tang, and will eat every algae you throw at it. Im talking bryopsis and bubble, as well.

That's what I have and it even eats dreaded Dictyota algae. Here is a photo of mine:

Is it normal for them to eat Dictyota? I have a few small patches and having problems getting rid of it manually. Is that the a juv Siganus doliatus? Usually I see them with the lines. BTW, it is a really nice looking fish you got there.

He is a juvi and is only about 3". It was sold as a Siganus virgate but I believe it is a doliatus.

I read that they are one of the few fish who would eat Dictyota. Naso tangs also eat it but you need a very large tank for them. I see mine picking at the Dictyota all day.

Thanks Mike. I'll try to look into getting one of those. It is one of the only rabitfish that catch my eye and with only a 125 gal. I don't have enough room for a Naso.

Yeah it's really a great looking fish. Plus it is one of the best grazers you can buy.

I got mine at Vivid Aquariums:
