Need a Little Help Please

I am trying to connect my Profilux 3 to my Computer by way of the LAN connection. For some reason the unit will not communicate with my PC. Works with the RS232 connected but not through the LAN connection. I really need the LAN connection because I don't want to keep taking my unit down and connecting by way of RS232. Too bad they don't make these RS232 cords in a longer length. I also have a problem with the PAB power bar. This is not talking to the Unit, all I get is a green blinking light no comm light.

LAN require some networking knowledge and can be complicated. Can you use a USB? You can obtain long USB cord almost everywhere.

For PAB, you have to configure it in the controller interface.
Press the down arrow until you get to "system" and press enter.
Press the down arrow until you get to "configure PAB" press enter
Press the down arrow until you get to "configure device" and press the right arrow.
Remember to press the right arrow instead of enter here. After the controller does its thing, you should be able to use it.

So the unit can be connected by the USB outlet also?

When I press the right arrow nothing happens. Should I do a PAB system reset?

Yes, if you have the USB connection in the back.
You might have to download the driver located on the aquariumcomputer site.

When you go to configure PAB, do you see a check box and some numbers?
Press enter on the serial number of the device and an "x" will be shown in the check box then press the right button.

Had to get into assign devices. Once I checked the box and pressed enter the bar is now communicating with the unit. Going to give the USB a try later. Thanks

One other thing, there are two USB driver downloads. Which should I use, Prolific-Chipset or FTDI-Chipset?

I started with the one with the most downloads, if it didn't work i used the other :bounce3:

I believe its for the chipset on your usb controller in your computer.

Thanks Got it. Now for another million dollar question, I have the Vorteck control module, I configured the PAB for it, where do you go in the program to set up the schedule for the Vortechs? I am not seeing anything from the PC software to do this.

Almost got everything figured. The only problem is I had everything setup and running and with in about 2mins both pumps switched to 100% constant mode and got stuck on that mode?
