need a macro guru

i have this macro thats been a constant problem for me. its green and grows in thin singular strands. and each strand has 2 rows of tiny hair like strands. it looks exactly like a green feather. anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

PITA to get rid of, i managed somehow. i tell ya, if i ever spot it on any of the rock, coral etc. it isn't entering my tank...
