Need a new pump...recs?

Ever seem like everything can go wrong in your tank's equipment? The propeller's on our wavemaker pump broke 3 weeks ago and thankfully, the LFS replaced the propeller for free after an argument with the owner since the pump was in a protected area and only 3 months old when this happened. Our first outlet on the reefkeeper 2 stopped working and then yesterday, the rk2 display switched into a line of white boxes so we can't see anything like temp, ph, change the settings or anything. It still works and we can standby for feeding, just no display. It's about as useful as having a working computer with no monitor. But the biggest problem we're having is the main pump. It's an odyssea 1000 that we purchased new with the tank back in April. It clogged up about 3 months ago so I took off the cover, rinsed the sponge and propeller thingy, put it back together and it worked fine for about another month and then it started getting noisy. If I toggle the pump on and off, I can sometimes get it to turn back on in a quieter mode but otherwise, it almost sounds like a boat motor or something. It's not clogged, completely cleaned out and has it's own space in our sump which is free from big critters and it's not a refugium. I want to keep the odyssea as a backup pump but not in our main tank. I am looking for rec's for a better, quieter pump that won't give us as many problems. I hate waking up in the morning and hearing the pump going at it in the living room. It's just a steady vibrating noise that it makes. I'll order a new pump online but would prefer something I could find in a LFS. Seems like most LFS only carry 1 brand of pumps but I have many in the area. 1000gph or better and keep in mind it has a 4'head going back into the tank.

I'm just a newbie, but after researching internal return pumps on RC, i decide to order an Ocean Runner 3500 for my 72 Gal.

From what i read is very quiet an energy efficient. i also considered an Eheim pump but those cost a lot more.

Mluz is right on I would get an ocean runner or ehiem. Mag pumps are a good alternative also but they are a little bit louder.
