I have a cycled sponge filter but I am in Menifee. We could meet at the OC/ Corona border at a good time ie no traffic.

Thanks omid, will be taking out all the fish. Its going to look so lonely in there but its for the best, hey do you think any of the snails can carry the ich too ?

No its not running anymore. Maybe less than a year already. So i dont know if the pump of aquafilter still works. But u can bring it and try. I have cupramine,prazi left too i believe and copper test kit. All used. U can have it also

inverts don't carry ich but ich can lay eggs on hard surfaces. snail shells included

Of course ich would be present all over your tank in all stages of the life including eggs. In rocks, in your filtration, in your substrate, every where.
Those ich are no harm to anything except the fish, That 6 weeks without fish make sure you break the life cycle and all those buggers will die without fish to live on.

Anacanthus Tangs are ick magnets, Outbreaks are directly related to stress factors in your tank. I have taken a different approach and so far it is working for me and my Powder Blue. Any fish that becomes a bully gets voted off the reef. Get rid of the stress and the fishes immune system will stay strong to battle the parasite.
Be careful what fish you try together, never put in two different Anacanthus Tangs or they will go highlander on you and stress out your whole tank.
I do see occasional signs of ick, but my fish are fat and healthy and it does not seem to bother them unless stress gets kicked up.
I have friends who swear ick free, but most of them still see it once in a while and scratch their heads? I think catching all your fish will stress them out more than the ick.
Good luck though, I always know better than to put a Powder Blue in a busy Reef, but I just canโt help myself. I have had to remove fish to keep him.
Any fish that constantly fight are no good for the health of your Reef, taking out the bullies has worked well for me.

I dont really have lots of fish in my 120, just 5 chromis a blue tang and a powder brown, they all seem tp get along just well.
Update on the qt tank, got it set up that same night i picked it up was kinda of a all nighter for me. So the powder brown and 3 chromis have been in there for a day, i have not had any success on catching the blue tang nor two other chromis. As soon as they see me they go into hiding mode especially the blue tang. Sucks because i cant set the countdown in the main display until all are out of it. Should i try not to feed for a day or two then try and catch them with the trap again ?
