I purchased a 135 gallon established reef tank about 6 weeks ago. The tank was about 3 years old and doing very well. Mostly aggressive fish like a lion, two triggers undelated and picasso, domino damsel, and two groupers most fish fairly large and very healthy. Very large rocks with star polyps and some other soft corrals that the fish did not bother. So I get the tank home set it back up within a couple hours. Corrals are doing great actually growing very rapidly. I have been out of the hobby for about five years so a little rusty to say the least. All fish were eating very well the first couple weeks. I noticed fish starting to get white spots and rubbing the rocks really bad. First sign of it I set up a qt tank which is not fully cycles yet so i cant put the fish in it for medication. After about the first week all fish were hanging at the top of the tank like they were trying to get out. Them there fins were dissapearing like they were being eaten but they were not. Now that I omly have snails, starfish, hermits, and a lobster left what is the best thing to do and how lomg to wait before looking at fish again. It will not be aggressive fish again and what is the best way to cycle the qt tank so all new fish can be treated before going into the big tank. My main tank is a 135 and qt is a 90 gallon bare bottom with some old dried out life rock from years ago.
