Need Advice: Newbie Stocking selection

I have decided to go towards what I call a fish centric tank ie
a fish tank that has lR and some corals like zos, mushrooms etc for color. I just got 92 gall corner tank and I will have a DSB, sump
a Euroreef skimmer, a phosban reactor and a cannister filter.

I was going to have a peacful tank with 1 tank , an impeartor angel , some butterflies etc but made the assumption that a slightly aggressive tank would be more hardier.

I want a puffer, a lionfish, a marine betta, trigger (either Piccaso or Clown) a tang (I know I'm pushing it here) and two LARGE clowns for the kids.

Will this work? Any advice on selections and recommerndations
will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Corner tanks don't really lend themselves to large active fish. I'd nix the triggers. One of the smaller lion species might be okay. Puffers are hit or mis with lions and can get nippy. The marine betta is a nice fish. A pair of cinnamon clowns would be interesting. Some of your prospects are pretty big waste makers and this needs to be factored in when contemplating a reef.

I thought Piccaso triggers kept relatively small. I am planning on getting a clean up crew of primarily of crabs to help with the messy eaters.

Picassos can hit close to 8 inches and are quite acitve. They'll also make a meal out of most inverts you wish to have for a clean up crew. Not a good mix.

The puffer is an invert eater too.. Don't kow which kind you were thinking of, but the porcupine, and the dog faced, both will get WAY too big for a 92.

You might consider a toby puffer, and a dwarf lion, they might do well in a tank that size...

The trigger is definitely out with those tank mates, don't know for sure about their size, but I know they can get pretty territorial with a limited amount of space...

I am purchasing a 125g tomorrow, but will be upgrading to a 180 in April just for my Dog faced puffer, and volitans lion...I don't have them yet, but want to be ready when I do!

HTH! You could go with smaller aggressive fish, such as the damsels, maroon or cinnamon clowns, perhaps a samll tang, yellow, or purple, I think the purple gets about 4-5 inches...

Just a thought!! Good Luck!

I would not put lions and clowns together.. if you do keep clowns for a while first.... and DO NOT feed the lion live food.. get frozen silversides... or will eat your clown. we got lucky... but lions are known for eating clown. Tangs are fun. The Blue (Regal) is what I have. we have a "Nemo" tank..lol

Puffer
Moorish Idol (very hard to keep)
Clown
Blue Tang
Lunare Wrasse
Snowflake Eel
Lion

We got lucky with clown because lion and puffer are supposed to eat...
