Need Advice on 100g tank

I was given a 100g tank that had been sitting outside for about a year or more. My question is that the top plastic rim was broken, so I removed it. Will I be ok leaving it rimless or would need to add a center brace so it will not bow? Thanks

I believe that the rim is used to give the aquarium strength, and I therefore think you should put something on the top, to help hold it together (just a bit of my limited knowledge...)
