need advice on camera purchase

Ok Im looking to spend 200-350 (hopefully closer to the 200) for a decent general purpose digital camera but still be able to take some decent macro shots of my tank... I know i have read on here some people suggest the cannon s3 is as of right now thats what im looking at. Anyone have any other (cheaper) idea that would suit my purpose.

Could go for the Canon S2 IS....older model but still pretty decent.

VR i thought about that as well but in looking around online i have found the s2 for 295 but found the s3 for 301 with free shipping...

What sites are you looking at? Some sites sell them cheap but are very hard people to deal with.

Check em out on www.resellerratings.com first to make sure they're not shady. I got to play with the S3 a while back and was impressed.
