Need advice on fish selection

Hello,

I am new to this hobby and would like some of your advice to the fish selection I am going to get. Tank is a 75 Gallon Reef with soft coral mainly.

Orange Stripe Prawn Goby and/or Greenbanded Goby,
Royal Gramma Basslet
Lawnmower Blenny (really want this one)
Firefish
Yellow Stripped Cardinal and/or Spotted Cardinalfish
Flame Angelfish
Striped Dottyback(maybe)
Blue/Green Chromis
Blue Tang
Yellow Tang
Ocellaris Clownfish

So my main question is will the goby, royal gramma and the blennys fight or will they be all cool with each other?

Thanks a lot

I forgot to mention i am probably going to want a six line wrasse as well

Thoughts suggestions greatly appreciated.

Skip the blue tang and the six line. The dottyback can be aggressive as well
The other fish should get along and are suitable for a 75 with the yellow tang being boarder line to big

Hey thanks a lot for your reply, just did some in-depth research and looks like the blue tang is kind of a hard fish to keep...

Didnt realize the six line was a semi aggressive fish. Good to know.

You guys think the two Goby and the Lawnmower Blenny might be okay? read that the blenny might be aggressive too toward other blennys but not sure if they will terrorize the two goby

the 2 gobies you want should be just fine, 2 diamond gobies maybe not but your selection should be fine. The blue tang is going to get to big but i think you should be fine with the yellow tang. (the tang police might hang me for that) flame angel are hit and miss with coral so might want to rethink that. And instead of a yellow tang take a look at a flame tail tang (tomini tang) i like them more. sixline is fine but they are bullies most of the time, but have heard of them being big babies. everything else looks awsome good luck and welcome to the hobby!

Thoughtful fish keepers frown on the "Tang Police" moniker. If you've ever seen a mature yellow tang, you'll know they do not belong in a 75. Kole tang maybe. Skip the dottyback and 6-line. Too aggressive. Skip the chromis, too boring as you don't have room for a large group which only belong in very large tanks. The other fish sound excellent for your tank. I would add the angel last and the lawnmower second to last to minimize territory based aggression. Good luck and kudos for asking before buying. Cheers.

Take a look at this article and i think it has some great info at tank size:
http://coralmagazine-us.com/content/arrested-tang-police-i-refuse-confess

I’ve posted it in a couple other threads and no other fish keepers could really dispute the finds. I’m very open to any ideas about tangs, but no one really knows where the tang size came from. The study is very interesting, and I think brings some valid points to this topic. Small alien I would love to get your .2 on the article seeing as your one of the more experienced keepers?

oh ya... totally forgot to add a pair of nemos (Ocellaris) on the list. I think they are a must in any tank.

Mike interesting read :) I'll see what my BF think of the other 2 tangs suggested. I personally like wimpy fish, however, the BF likes bigger fish... I think i convinced him that the blue tang is no go although the previous tank owner kept one really well. The "I'll think about it after I get a little more experience with the hobbie" should do the trick lol. I do really like the Kole tang.

Now to set up my 14 gallon QT. Thank god those murderous devils of tiger barbs are going away.

oh this is going to take so long to add all the fish I want... I am guessing that tank is going to be running for at least 4 month...

My tank has been running for over a year and its not fully stocked to my liking, take your time adding fish and you will see the reward later on when you have minimal too zero deaths

Hey mikem. Thanks for posting that link. I found the article to be quite thoughtful. There's obviously some grey area. I'm not a fan of the tang police term because I see it used as an excuse for not thinking and for irresponsible choices. And yet, people do go overboard in the other direction as well. I'm also not a fan of the term politically correct, again because it's often used dismissively by people who can't be bothered to think and do the right thing. For newer keepers, I think pushing the limits in tang tank size is unwise. But many would say my stock list is unwise as well. Let's keep the discussion open and respectful on both sides.

Someone may keep a yellow successfully in a 75, but I don't think anyone should advise it. Especially without the context you provided. I may have been a little harsh in my rebuke.
