I made a fish trap out of a water bottle which worked very well for small fish many times.
You can catch small fish fairly quickly if you bait the trap with the favorite food of your fish and place the trap in the area where the fish hangs out a lot. However, some timid fish would not go into a trap and you may end up breaking down your tank after all. But before you do that, check the following video clip out.
Someone in Japan had a short video clip on how to catch a fish out of an aquarium with a tiny barb-less fish hook with mysis or brine shrimp as a bait:
I also heard a number of success stories recently. Brandon in ETRC told me that he caught his Fox Face in no time with a small fish hook from which he cut or filed off a barb.
We just had to catch a coral beauty out of my 210gal. which is heavily stocked. We made a trap similar to the Tomoko has posted. Our was out of a gatoraid bottle. It took three days but well worth it to keep from breaking down the tank.It worked great.
It was Tammy's idea, can't take credit for it.

Hey Joe
I could pick up the trap from Joey later this week, but me thinks you want the fish out before the lion has a chance to make a meal of it. let me know if this is not the case.
what always worked best for me was a small barbless hook with bait. you can file the barb off if you don't have a barbless. it's very humane and effective on most fish. it's draw backs are if you have allot of fish it can be more dificult to make sure you catch the right one.
