i am sure this is asked alot. what is the salinity of the qt tank. how should fish be introduced to it. should cu be added at the beginning. can meth blue and cu be added at the same time.thanks in advance. sorry about all the questions. beach
You can acclimate fish to a salinity of 14ppt (not SG) quickly provided the temperature and pH are in line. Not usually a good idea to combine hypo with copper. Not much use for methylene blue and it will kill the biofilter. Go slow when raising the salinity again. Take about a week.
The specific gravity varies with temperature and most hydrometers (especially plastic swing-arm) are too inaccurate. Best guess is a Specific Gavity of 1.009, assuming you have a tool that will measure it correctly. Look at the water level if you use a hydrometer that floats in the water and not how high the water climbs the neck of the hydrometer.
