I have an ASM G1X and can only get the impeller to turn for about a second if I push it by hand.
Anyone have any advice as to maybee the pump needs to be cleaned better, does it need a new impeller or could the pump be junk.It is a sedra pump 350 GPH I believe. After A power outage I can not seem to get it to go.
If it does need A new impeller does anyone no the cheapist place to purchase one.
Thanks everyone

Not of any help but I am having the same problem with my sedra 5000 abiet may be due to the mesh wheel mod but still never worked very well. customaquatic has em pretty cheap

Sounds like calcium has buit around the shaft. take the pump apart and place in vinegar after a couple of hours, take the impeller apart. you should notice that the impeler itself doesn't rotate on the shaft. Be carful when pulling the impeler off of the shaft. Take fine sandpaper and gently rub it across the shaft until all deposits are off and the shaft is smooth. Slide the shaft back into the impeler and see if it rotates smoothly. If so just take a toothbrush and scrub the ouside of the imperler clean and the inside of the housing of the pump before putting back together.

I do this to all my powerheads and pumps every 3 months for optimal performance.
