need advice on sump system

well I'm finally going to put a sump under my 55 gallon tank it's non RR so I need an overflow and would like to find a 36 inch sump and a new skimmer any suggestions on the overflow and skimmer or any feedback would be appreciated thanks

If you use an overflow, I'd go with a CPR product. They make an overflow that will no doubt handle whatever flow you need.

You could have someone drill the tank as well... cheaper maybe???

can't really drill it it's full of fish and corals and liverock but how much flow rate do you want in a overflow

600 gph should be fine

what are you going to use to return the water back to the tank

I just bought a 9.5 glad to see you made it back are you going to the meeting on Sat. also I'm have trouble find a sump that will fit in the (11.5 inch footprint)stand any suggestions I want one at least 36" long I think

I was down at JBJ plastics yesterday and they had a ton of scrap acrylic that was more than big enough to build a sump with and you could custom build it very easily. For a 4'X1-1/2- ft piece 1/2" thick he charged me 15 bucks. Since it's scrap they would probably haggle if you were getting more. I would guess materials would be 50-75 doing that. They even offered to cut it to what I wanted but I didn't know the size. I used mine as a shelf for my skimmer to sit on the end of the stock tank so I just ripped it with my table saw and it cut really good.
