Need air bubbles or not?

I just set up my 58 gal saltwater tank and am in the process of cycling. I was wondering since I now have a Fluval 304 canister filter and 1 Hagen 302 powerhead as the only things running now (UV and Protien Skimmer are off), it seems like since the filter is such a closed system there is no air being fed to the tank? Id this a problem and will simply adding the air tubing to the powerhead to create air bubbles help? My LFS suggested I add 5 chromis to the tank to aid the cycling and I added them this past saturday and 1 has died and 1 doesn't look to good? SG is at 1.025, temp 78, PH 8.2 no live rock.

I would take thefish you do have left back, Your LFS gave you bad and wrong information. The fish are suffering in that enviornment. It would be as if we were in a room full of ammonia and everytime we took a breath it burned our lungs. The fish are going thru the same thing.
You can cycle a tank with some fish food or even a piece of a raw dinner shrimp.
I would also have the skimmer on, and there is no need for the airstone since oxygen is put into the water with water flow.
I woud definitly take the fish yoyu do have left back before the LFS wastes your money and the fish die.

I forgot to add the I have also added Cycle to jumpstart the cycle as well. Is there any other additives I can use? How do I use the shrimp to cycle?

Yeah, I would take the remaining fish back. LR is plenty to cycle a tank. I would run the skimmer also. Gas exchange should be cool if there is enough water surface agitation.

The additives will help out a little but only time and nature can do there thing properly.
Since you already have fish in that tank, even once they are gone you wont have to worry about cycling the tank, since the fish already caused the Ammonia and Nitrite to go up.
Say you never added fish, you take a piece of dinner shrimp and cut it in half and dump it in the tank. Let it sit in their for 2 or 3 days, this will give enough die off or foulness to the tank so the bacteria has something to feed off of.
Once that happens the cycle starts.
Same goes for fish food.
