can you drink the water that comes out of the waste line on the ro unit? I know you cant drink out of the di cartridge but what about the waste line from just the ro?

You can drink out of the waste and product side of the RO membrane. The only thing that I have read is if a person only drank RO/DI water, it could be bad for them. Any water before it goes through the DI cartridge is fine. These statements we all read about DI water being bad for consumption refers to drinking only DI water and no other fluids at all.

I don't think you would have any problem drinking the DI water, it probably wouldn't taste all that good though. If you think about it all the water going in to your ro/di unit is water from your house that you probably drink now. I believe the problem with drinking only filtered water might have something to do with you not getting enough fluoride.

fluoride is not necessary. its really not even that good for you. but you are correct the ony thing coming out of the RO DI unit is what went in it. i am really curious as to why this qestion

uhmmm... he is really thirsty...

As for the fluoride I thought it was important for keeping your teeth healthy, but I'm no dentist.

We ran out of fluoride water for our infant. we dont give hime tap water so I was wondering if I could fill his bottle out of my ro unit. I know its not good to drink the water after the di. But I thought it was ok to drink out of just the ro part.

I would think a accidental dose wouldnt hurt but long turn can be very harmful. Yuck is what i think of. Tap alone is yuck and this ,yuck.

the water we buy says on the label that it has been ran through a rodi to remove everything. so wouldn't this be the same?

sorry if my last post seemed crass. Ro water is ok to drink. Many people have whole house ro systems for drinking water.

OP asked about the waste line. The waste water would have higher concentration of the stuff in your regular tap water. Stick with the RO water.

i like how you're state borders on one of the largest freshwater bodies in the world and you buy your drinking water. what did all you people afraid to drink tap water do 10-15 years ago? but anyway, the other water went through an ro/di but they probably added stuff afterwards.

Im in southern pa... I have no problem with tap water. I drink it all day long. Its the wife that wont drink it and wants the baby to drink it. DONT ASK ME???? I just do what she wants.. It works out better that way.

i drink out of my ro side all the time
the di side taste really bad
if your asking bout the waste water why not use the tap its the same thing
