need diy help

.... Liiiittttllle more information required, my dude.

What kind of filtration are you looking for? What are you trying to accomplish?

If its a 20 gallon tank, and assuming you are using it for a reef given this forum.... Your live rock is the filter.

from checking your profile you seem to have a sump already am I correct?

I believe in that thread he mentions its a cannister filter, and he is advised to remove it and get a HOB. I wasn't sure if it was the same tank he was looking for, he has a few 10's as well.

What are you trying to filter?
Personally I don't think mechanical filtration serves much if any purpose in our hobby..

just looking for cheap, effective diy filtration for the 20 gal, i disconected the sump, now running fluval aqua clear 50, on tank, plus protein skimmer. the sump was running with no over flow, so preferably looking for diy wier and overflow. also looking for natural nitrate removal. any helps.

So what are you asking for now?
To diy filter, overflow and a fuge?

Any reason you don't just rely on water changes alone for such a small tank to keep everything in check?
Thats all I would do..
