My 30g tank is a god dmn mess.
It's been up for almost a year and crashes all the damn time.
I don't have a sump for it. I've been trying to get away with a few power heads and two HOB filters.
I have been thinking about a cannister filter recently and came across the Eheim 2227

Has anyone used these before?
I'm worried about whether this two stroke pump action being all loud and annoying.
It's also about $100 more than the cannister I was considering.
Any advice would be helpful.
My 30g has about 40lbs of LR already in it with another 40lbs of live sand. But I've had so many cyano outbreaks, green hair algae issues and on and on and on.
The claims of this canister sound really good and I don't want a sump as I don't want to deal with all the plumbing and overflow risk, etc.
