Is this normal/ok? Can I fill the tank up with water? Here are a few pictures of the tanks bottom rim. The tank was never used, brand new pretty much. Will it just straiten out when I fill it with water? The tank is 180 gallon glass tank. The tank has a euro brace on the bottom. Here are a few pictures.

I would do as suggested. No sense taking any chances inside. It probably will be ok but you never know!!!!

what are you asking that will straighten out,who makes the tank anyway
I'm asking if it will straiten out if I fill it up with water or should I put foam or something under the tank? Not sure of the brand, but the tank was made in China I believe.

Are you 100% positive it's not the stand that's out of whack?
Its the plastic trim that is out of whack.

I was about to say. I would bet that the stand is out of whack and therefore adjust the stand. Even if the tank is out of whack, the silicone has dried the glass into that position. Streach the tank out of its glued position will rip the silicone apart. Either check the tank AND stand with a stright edge or shimmy the stand to fit the tank then fill her up.

Is the tank acrylic?

Either way, to me, it seems like a bad idea to force the tank to flex that much.

It appears to be a back corner. I'd pickup a pack of wood shims & cut & fit as needed to fill the gap. Then take some black paint on a small brush & cover the shims. I use those shims to level my stand/tank before filling.

Depending on the width of the tank, take a true straight edge, such as a good 4 to 6 foot level and see if the stand top is true. If the level teeter's back and forth it is not level. You may be able to flip the tank over and do the same thing with the bottom or top for that matter. Can you tell if the black trim is abutting the glass or can you tell? You can also take some basic measurements like corner to corner in an "x" fashion on the top, sides, bottom and if the measurements are equal respectively the tank should be square.

Its the bottom plastic trim that is crooked, not the stand. I already checked with a big lvl.

Man I would hate for you to fill up that tank and have it shift and crack. So if the tank stand is true then the tank is definitely racked. I would suggest placing rigid foam insulation under it to make up for the irregularity or shimming it. But then again, from what you have described there must be a gap between the black plastic and the glass. Is that correct?

i didnt realize that there was a gap when i first looked at it, the only other thing i can think of is that the trim is there for looks and not for support, my brother has a 150 that sits on the glass and has no trim at all

Ok, I'm seeing two different pictures, one with a square corner and one with a round corner. Is that two tanks? If so they both are off the stand a little bit, this would indicate the stand is out of wack. I'd put foam cut smaller than the plastic trim so the glass sits parallel to the stand.

even if its a homemade stand he said it was level, but i was looking at how none of the trim hits the stand so i would think its made to sit on the glass or made wrong, i say put water in it and see what happens(outside though)

But if you put water in it and the stand has a bow, it will cause the tank to bow, and could easily break.

The only reason I am saying this is because I know a guy who had a 265g. The stand was a little crooked, and 1 day he came home to about 2" of water left in the tank and the rest on the ground. Needless to say it was almost a total loss. I would hate to see that happen to anybody again.
